Welcome to American Huntcraft
We’re a family company of hunters, engineers, and fabricators. Our ideas come from long days in the woods and late nights around the campfire — then come to life in our Virginia shop.
From artisan wood and textile crafts made of local hardwoods and salvaged materials, to innovative hunting tools, like the Patriot Loader, each American Huntcraft product is built with the kind of detail and character you only get from small-batch craftsmanship.
We are relentlessly focused on quality, function, and gear that does what it’s supposed to. Whether you're in the field or at home, we make tools that carry tradition.

MEET THE ARTISAN
Martin "Homer" Garthaffner is the founder of American Huntcraft.
A retired mechanical engineer with 31 years in machine design and more than 70 U.S. patents, Martin has spent a lifetime working with his hands — as a mechanic, homebuilder, and practical problem-solver.
He is also a lifelong bow hunter and NRA Certified black powder instructor with the Frontier Camping Fellowship. His approach to American Huntcraft is shaped by a quiet commitment to service, family, and honest craftsmanship.
The company reflects the life Martin and his wife have built with their four sons and nine grandchildren. Every piece is proudly made in Virginia — built to honor the hunt and stand the test of time.
